Methodology

How the data is gathered. Every status in this section comes from a live fetch of each provider's own status endpoint (or, where none exists, its status page HTML) performed Aug 6, 2026 6:50 PM ET. Every deprecation row comes from the four providers' official deprecation/retirement pages, fetched the same day. Nothing is estimated, and each page links its source.

The non-standard-endpoint finding. Only 5 of the 9 monitored providers use Atlassian Statuspage's standard /api/v2/status.json. The other 4 — Mistral AI, Perplexity, Together AI, Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — use Instatus, BetterStack, Google's incidents feed, or (Mistral) a Checkly page with no JSON endpoint at all, which is why "just poll /api/v2/status.json" silently fails for much of the market. Each provider page documents the endpoint and format that actually works, including redirect gotchas we hit — and these move: Fireworks migrated from BetterStack to Statuspage between our July and August verification passes.

What we can't monitor. xAI returns HTTP 403 (Cloudflare challenge) to non-browser clients and DeepSeek's status host resets TLS connections from our network. We list both as unmonitorable rather than guessing — an absent probe is not an "operational" badge.

Snapshot honesty & refresh cadence. This board is a build-time snapshot: statuses are as of Aug 6, 2026 6:50 PM ET and refresh on each site rebuild, not in real time. Live auto-refresh ships post-launch. The deprecation dataset compiled from the same sources feeds the deprecations table: rows whose retirement date passed before 2025-01-01 are omitted; dates are normalized to YYYY-MM-DD only when the provider gives an exact date — hedged wording like "No sooner than May 20, 2028" is kept verbatim.

Planned: deprecation alerts. An email alert when a model you pin gets a retirement date is planned as a paid add-on (post-launch — not yet purchasable; nothing is charged today).

Corrections. Spotted a wrong date or a moved endpoint? Email us — fixes ship in the next rebuild. Independent and solo-operated; not affiliated with any provider listed.
